Alvis Speed 20

12V Dynator to fit the Alvis Speed 20 Models SA & SB. Produces 90A compared to approximately 20A of the original. The Dynator shown in the photos has been fitted with the drive couplings from the original dynamo from the car, as these are not supplied with the new Dynator. Another advantage is that the Dynator weighs approximately 6kg compared to 10kg of the original dynamo.

Please note that due to the drive layout in the Alvis engine, the original dynamo is driven at less than crankshaft speed. Once the Dynator is fitted, it may be necessary to 'blip the throttle' in order to start the alternator charging.
