Ford Pinto

Hi torque starter motor to suit Ford Pinto (and Pinto with RS Bellhousing).  (Replaces Lucas LRS00110). As well as fitting various Fords, this engine was also used in the Morgan 4/4 (1982 onwards), Reliant Scimitar GTE Auto (1976-80) & TVR Tasmin 200.

Originally the Ford starter had a 10 tooth 27mm pinion. These starters have an 11 tooth 29mm pinion, offset slightly. The net effect is an even faster cranking speed, on top of that provided by the high torque starter motor.

For high compression engines a high power starter (LMS172) is available. Where space is at a premium, a smaller Hitachi unit (LMS281) is also available.
